Food Reviewer Kicked Out of The Edge For Throwing a Tantrum

“No, you don’t understand. I want my food COMPED.” The words echoed throughout The Edge at Akers. Onlookers reported being shocked and mildly scandalized to see a student screaming at a worker at Tandoori.

We at The Nut interviewed the unfortunate [worker], Darren Johnson, to get his insight on what happened. Johnson is a Business sophomore who works at The Edge nearly every day. “I just serve the food, man. I don’t have any control over the cost and stuff,” said Johnson, looking tired.“I tried telling her that, but she wouldn’t listen.”

This infamous “her” is Lois Peterson, a freshman with an undecided major. Notably, Peterson is also a TikTok food reviewer with 14 followers.

“That guy knew what he was doing,” said Peterson. “It was targeted, I’m telling you. I told him I’m a famous food reviewer and shouldn’t have to pay. Then he told me that my quote-unquote meal plans were already paid for and that I had to scan my card when coming into the dining hall! It’s unbelievable.”

Previous to her visit to The Edge, Peterson said she’d sent an email to MSU notifying them of her interest in reviewing their food.

MSU never emailed her back.

“I’ve done 15 reviews, so I thought it was pretty disrespectful that MSU didn’t say anything back to me,” said Peterson. “But I’m nice, so I went in anyway.”

“It was awful,” Peterson had to say about the experience. Reluctantly, we at the Nut took the time to watch her still-posted food review.

First, Peterson complained about having to wait in line for the omelet bar at Sticks and Noodles for “almost 50 minutes.” s

We watched as she also went over to Slices to grab a cheese pizza, and finished off her full-course meal with chicken and naan from Tandoori.

“I watched her sit down at a booth and spend 30 minutes setting up some camera equipment,” said Barbara Smith, the Sticks and Noodles sous chef.

It took Peterson around an hour to start on her first plate, the omelet.

“I hated it. First off, it was cold, second, I don’t like eggs, and thir,d they didn’t even give me any utensils,” said Peterson in her posted review.

She then moved on to her cheese pizza, which had similarly negative reviews. Finally, she took a bite of her chicken and naan.

“That was my final straw; I had to complain to management,” said Peterson.

“Yeah, she walked over to Tandoori with her phone already recording me. I knew she was about to say something stupid, and I honestly didn’t want to deal with it,” said Johnson.

Peterson yelled at Johnson, demanding a refund, and the commotion was loud enough to draw campus security.

“I tried to tell her that she’s already paid for the meal plan and we can’t do anything at this point,” said Chris Bartlett, Chief of MSU Police, “but she just wouldn’t listen.”

“LA LA LA LA, I’m not gonna listen to you,” said Peterson on video taken during the event.

MSU declined to comment, specifically stating in their email, “We don’t know who that is.”

Johnson gained 3 followers from this event and plans to review Brody Square’s food next.
