Georgia State University’s beloved on-campus Chick-Fil-A recently relocated to the Petit Science Center. Students were outraged, as the new location is less convenient and its cramped interior forces many to wait outside for their orders– rain or shine.
The new location was consistently losing customers to Saxby’s due to its central location. Chick-Fil-A attempted to remind people about their distant store by hosting pop-ups just outside of the old restaurant. This proved effective, but only temporarily.
Luckily, GSU listened to their student’s complaints and decided to open up a brand-new location inside of Library North. Unfortunately, the prime restaurant spot is taken by Saxby’s, so Chick-Fil-A will be occupying one of the study rooms. Students will still be able to reserve the room during off-hours on weekdays and all day on Sundays.
Due to limited availability, Chick-Fil-A will be on the Quiet Floor. The employees will point to a sign that reads “My Pleasure” instead of vocalizing it in order to respect the studying students.
To avoid lines running out of the door, the company permanently reserved the adjacent study room for the customers to vacate while waiting for their food. Employees will also be placed in the elevators to allow customers to place orders in advance, maintaining Chick-Fil-A’s notorious quick service.
Many students are hesitant about a food company vacating two of their valuable study spots, so Chick-Fil-A will be offering free chicken sandwiches as study fuel. The one-time offer is redeemable between 12:00 and 1:00pm every other Thursday. Applicable only on Leap Years.
To celebrate the grand opening, the Chick-Fil-A Cow will make an appearance. GSU School Mascot Pounce the Panther will be kept at a distance in order to avoid conflict.
Chick-Fil-A hopes the smell of fried chicken wafting through the vents will inspire people to take a break from studying and navigate the elevators for food. Hopefully, the third time’s a charm for the fast-food company.
