The things students don’t have are time, money, and energy, which is what students attempt to get back during spring break. Unfortunately, some students have overly high expectations of themselves, according to the students.
“I was going to study my Japanese flash cards every day, and I did not do that,” said one student.
“I wanted to go to the moon like that one genius, but I didn’t even look up any parts for the spaceship,” said another.
Not only were singular goals made, but students also reported having multiple goals.
Counting on their fingers, a student related, “I wanted to do my taxes, write multiple short stories and poems, make progress on my novel, catch up on my homework…and probably some other things I forgot about. I forgot how hard it is to actually write, so I could only manage one short story that still sucks.”
“I wanted to smoke weed every day, which I did. I wanted to start my anime training arc to get totally jacked! But I just watched Deku do that instead in My Hero Academia”.
And of course, there were those who had no plans but got roped into everything.
“I just wanted a week where I just did nothing. But did I get that? Noooo. Everyone wanted me at their parties, which I could not say no to. And there was also my mother, who needed help with a stray cat she took in. Also catching up with all my friends, too. I had no time to binge the entirety of My Hero Academia.”
No matter their productivity levels, all the students share the same sentiment – there just isn’t enough time. Or energy. Or money.
