Damn, Dream Job Application That You Are Completely Qualified For Requires A Cover Letter

You graduated months ago and you have been applying for jobs every day with little to no luck. Some jobs are asking for 5 years of experience minimum for an entry-level job. Other jobs require no experience but don’t pay enough for you to even afford gas to drive to work. Not to mention that the only jobs you have heard back from ended up being multi-level marketing schemes to sell nutrition supplements. (not exactly the best use for your degree, but no one would blame you for doing it)

Finally, after hours of scrolling through LinkedIn, you find it. You didn’t know that a job listing could be so beautiful. An entry-level remote job, no experience required, the starting salary is $55,000, unlimited PTO, a 401k, and even medical, dental, and vision insurance. The best part is you are completely qualified for it. The job is almost too good to be true, which is why you spent over an hour looking at reviews for the company to make sure it was real.

It was in fact real. You are so ecstatic until you go to apply and your whole world shatters. The application requires a cover letter. It’s not even optional, it has a red asterisk next to it. You just finished college. Why should you have to write more stuff? This is ridiculous! Isn’t your resume enough? What would you even write about?

There’s only one reasonable thing for you to do. Click the flag icon to report the job listing as discriminatory and look at other jobs.

Maybe there is no such thing as a perfect job. Or maybe the only perfect jobs are ones that use LinkedIn Easy Apply.
