Drew students have been disappointed at the absence of any popular chain restaurants on campus for years. While other schools have a food court with a variety of restaurants to choose from, Drew students are limited to Commons or EC. At last, though, students will get what they’ve been asking for; Drew University will be partnering with Applebees to open a brand new restaurant location on our campus!
“We’re aware that our student body is cripplingly in debt, just like us,” Drew representative Lucia Farrow shares with us. “That’s why we’re partnering with Applebees, to provide students with a restaurant that matches their tastes and their budgets.” Farrow gave us a rundown on the two main points about how great this partnership is. “Applebee’s food and drinks are made with the cheapest ingredients, plus no one expects them to actually taste good, and the prices are so low that it’s the only place Drew students can afford to go to, so we have tons of reliable business.”
If you’re a college student on the lookout for good deals, you’ve most definitely heard of Applebees’ Dollaritas. What these margaritas lack in good flavor, they make up for in being cheap! These drinks are normally an October exclusive sale, but for the Drew location, they will, in fact, be the only drinks available year-round. Students will even be able to buy them with points.
Risa Thoureaux, Senior, expresses her excitement at the new partnership. “To be honest, the Pub’s $2 drinks were getting a little too expensive for me. Finally, there’s a place where I can get unsatisfyingly tipsy over the course of three hours! And they serve mozzarella sticks!”
The new Applebees will be located where the Shakespeare theatre once stood. Oh yeah we almost forgot to mention that they are tearing down the shakespeare theatre to put up the Applebee’s. We hope to see everyone at the grand opening!
