Now instead of being considered scum that contributes nothing to society they are considered trailblazing entrepreneurs. Everyone could use a little bit more bread coming in to pay the bills, The Nut wants to find the perfect Side Hustle to help you get it.
This month we’re going to start small with something you can do right now with no starting or operational cost. It’s called stealing from the human statue. Every major city has one. They are street performers who paint themselves metallic silver or gold and stay completely still. The crazy part is people actually give them money for doing nothing. So we are going to skip the process of painting ourselves and sitting outside for hours and go straight for the money.
The first part is also the most difficult, and that’s locating your local human statue. If you already know where they are, great you’re in luck, but if not we can help. They can usually be found on street corners and in parks. The problem is real statues can also be found in those areas. To tell the difference you can punch them extremely hard in the gut. Human statues will usually make a noise like “ow that hurt” or something like that. Real statues won’t make as much noise.
Now that you have located the human statue, find the hat, bucket, or briefcase that they are using to collect money from people. From there you can just grab it and walk away. The reason that this side hustle is so effective is because they can’t stop you. Unlike other street performers, the human statues can’t move making it significantly less risky than stealing from the one juggling chainsaws. Additionally, this can also be done with mimes because they can’t scream for help, but you need to wait until they are trapped in an invisible box before you run away. This technique is extremely useful in Paris.
