Athens County Animal Control received a concerning call a few days ago from a frantic-sounding student. The first student, a sophomore named Brad, claimed to have seen a bobcat roaming around campus. Animal Control was suspicious of a prank, considering that the bobcat is Ohio University’s mascot, but went to check it out nonetheless.
What they found when they arrived was an overfed housecat that had found its way outside, a terrified Brad who couldn’t be convinced to leave his car, and Brad’s roommate, Dave, who was seriously considering whether he wanted to move out.
The misunderstanding was cleared up quickly, but Brad continues to believe that he saw a bobcat. In the interest of maintaining the peace, please do not believe, or repeat, anything of the like that you hear.
