Students Attempt to Catch a Leprechaun, but Catch Their History Professor Instead

Saint Patrick’s Day is a special day for whimsy, and students thought to bring that whimsy to life with a simple trap for a leprechaun this past Tuesday. It wasn’t an elaborate setup, just some chocolate coins under a propped-up cardboard box. One engineering student offered to place a camera near the trap, theoretically to catch the leprechaun, but more likely to catch some squirrels.

The trap was set, and the students went about their Saint Patrick’s Day classes like normal. But when they met again that night to check the trap, they found the box had fallen over, though nothing was caught inside, and the coins were gone.

The camera was consulted, and the students were surprised to see their history professor, clad in green, approaching the candy. The professor looked around before bending over, but their caution did not save them from being hit over the head with the falling box.

The students were greatly amused and excited by their discovery, resolving in future traps to try and catch other secret leprechauns hiding among the history faculty too.
