For the month of March, the anonymous Twitter-wannabe, YikYak, instituted a way for school communities to battle in fierce gaming competitions for their school’s glory, called March Yakness.
What started off as a friendly game of cup pong quickly became a ferocious battle for a spot on the YikYak leaderboard.
“TCU has nothing on us!” one fervent YikYaker posted. “Oh what, we lost? Never mind.” That’s right, despite their steadfast resolve and perseverance, Drew lost to their opponent, Texas Christian University, by a whopping 11,000 points.
Students soon took to the streets, rioting and accusing TCU of cheating. Students gathered their pitchforks and torches, and marched through the roads of Madison, demanding a recount.
And TCU responded in kind. “Seems like a skill issue,” a TCU YikYaker said. To this, Drew students had no response.
