Last week, students of an anonymous professor were greeted with a zero on their midterm history essay.
Later, the professor sent an email clarifying, “Happy early April Fools”! I’m still grading your essays and hopefully will have grades posted before finals week”.
One student reported, “I know classmates who haven’t slept for days over this essay, so the joke is not funny. Granted, I did submit an IOU instead of an essay due to juggling ten classes, so I wasn’t surprised by it”.
Another student stated, “I was halfway done screaming at D2L support for not submitting my paper when I got the email, so that wasn’t fun.”
While it is debatable if the professor is a comedian or a fool, one thing is clear. There’s nothing more terrifying than a professor with a sense of “humor”.
