With the recently passed student body government election, many members of the student body have cried nepotism at the results. Earlier this month, candidates for senator at large began their campaigns. All of them invested time in placing posters around campus, posting on social media, and doing outreach for their cause. As people’s campaigns have progressed, their efforts have proven to be for nothing as the Student Body President himself has placed posters around campus with his endorsement for senator at large, Drew University’s latest transfer, Jonathan. Though student body presidents are allowed to endorse candidates who seem fit for the position, Jonathan’s endorsement came as a shock to the student body, because Jonathan had revealed himself to be two weeks old in a recent interview.
One student who wishes to remain anonymous reported, “He was literally born yesterday,” and many other students are in an uproar. The Student Body President has yet to respond to any comments about how this has affected the election, which Johnathon won by a 75% landslide. More will be said in next week’s upcoming senate meeting, led by Johathan.
