Herbert Horbin experienced a shift in the space-time continuum when he looked up from the keys of the Ehinger Center piano on Wednesday.
He began practicing for his big show in 1995, his big hit being “Hallelujah.” He had planned to practice for only a short while, and after what seemed like an hour had passed, he looked up and realized the entire Ehinger Center had changed.
“I went to talk to a student, to see what was going on, and they just said, ‘Bro, you’ve been playing ‘Hallelujah’ for three decades, my guy. The building’s been renovated twice’.” Horbin says.
While many students enjoyed his renditions of the song, it turns out that one can get tired of listening to “Hallelujah” on repeat with no way to skip to the next song. “Gotta feel bad for the guy. After all these years, his family is total goners, but man, am I sick of that song,” one student 8says.
While Horbin is glad to return to the real world, his whole life is gone. “I’m just going to go back to playing the piano. It’s all I know now,” he says. Horbin has played the piano without stopping ever since.
