Student Learns “Road Closed” Signs Means the Road Is Closed

Road construction has ramped up considerably this semester because the district decided that working during active school hours is the most effective way to agitate students.

However, one student didn’t get the memo and ended up driving into a seemingly inconspicuous pothole on W. Mulberry St.

This happened in spite of the several gigantic and obviously visible “ROAD CLOSED” and “ROAD CONSTRUCTION AHEAD” signs on both sides of the road and the construction workers shouting loudly to stop.

“We tried to warn ‘em,” UNT road construction worker Rocco Roade shared. “But they didn’t stop.”

The student in question, UNT English major Inda Hohle, claimed not to have noticed the giant signs, the massive potholes, or the loud, burly men on both sides of the road shouting loudly to turn back.

“I thought it was just an aesthetic,” they said. “I didn’t know they actually meant the road was closed in the moment. I think they should consider patching the holes to avoid confusion.”
