As Spring 2026 graduation approaches, Georgia State University seniors are on the lookout for prime photo locations. While spots like the Greenway, Urban Life Plaza, and Jackson Street Bridge are clichéd, many students are seeking less populated landscapes for them to pose in their cap and gown.
Fortunately, the ongoing demolition of the historic Sparks Hall classroom building has opened up a rare opportunity for students to pounce on. Excavators cleared the boxy, uninteresting structure and left behind a once-in-a-lifetime space.
Piles of rubble make for excellent seating for casual photos, and the dusty atmosphere adds a vintage feel. No need for Photoshop, as graduates can capture an apocalyptic ambiance in real time.
With plenty of surface area, the Sparks Hall graveyard is perfect for attention-seeking seniors. The bright blue gowns will pop among the gray-scaled surroundings, and there’s no sunlight obstruction. Say farewell to the building and your time at Georgia State, but beware of bulldozers!
