Kennesaw, GA. – Recent KSU alum Hunter Williams found himself unsatisfied with his internship under the Barstool Sports media empire. Majoring in Sports and Entertainment Marketing, he hoped to be able to push the sports podcasts of men who watch highlights of one sport and gain connections in the industry. After an interview that focused on beer chugging technique and if he was “not a beta,” he finds his hours are usually spent scrolling on TikTok and finding videos to “repost” on the Barstool.
“Yeah, I had a bunch of ideas and really was excited to meet other people in the industry, but they literally only asked me what my TikTok favorites are? They send me a basic message to DM accounts for their video for ‘exposure’. I don’t know what the hell they think exposure is because we just link our stuff first before crediting them. Ok, look, they have to be popular for a reason.”
The main detail Barstool looks for is “hell yeah factor” and “if it already has a ton of likes” as well as “if the girls are hot enough.”
Williams describes the only times the management discusses with him beyond TikTok is how Williams does at frat parties. “They are really interested in what college girls enjoy now for some reason.”
Fellow Barstool intern, Brandon Davis, mentioned to Williams how he doesn’t have to watch the actual podcast episodes to post highlights for. Davis counts how, “30% of the podcast episodes are about sports, 40% are gambling ads, and the rest are complaining about how politics should go away from Sports.”
Both Williams and Davis have now been fired due to their deleting racist and pro-Trump comments from the chat.
Another Barstool Intern who majored in Graphic design learned his job is only to minimize the armpit hair of Bartool Dave Portnoy going jersey only at WNBA games and post it on the Barstool social media accounts. He was also fired due to not laughing at the management’s Tom Segura’s impression.
All three are glad to be out of the Pirate Ship.
